On This Day

Initially, Amanda’s due date was July 7th (7/7) which ironically is her mom’s favorite number (7). Every day after the due date is filled with anticipation because we could be off to the hospital at any moment.

Reinventing Christmas

When I first was separated from my ex-wife, Arlene, my three kids were all under 10 years old. When Christmas came around that year I knew it was going to be hard — maybe not so much for the kids, but for me (selfish).

Dealing the Good Stuff

If you heard this one side of my cell phone conversation, what would you think?

"Hello, yeah, is he gone?"

(muffled reply)

"What? You said he'd be gone by 5:45. I'm not just going to keep driving around waiting for him to leave."

The Next Voice You Hear

Spent the last week of July this year down in Belmar, New Jersey in the bottom half of my ex-sister-in-law’s two family house. Its a great house, equidistant between the beach and the center-of-town. However, my favorite thing to do is, at the end of the day, after the sun goes, is plant myself on the front section of her wrap around porch.

True Crime at the Kids' Table

For the past two years, I have almost exclusively listened to True Crime Podcasts while driving in my car. When I find other people who are also interested in these podcasts, love to tell each other some of the stories we’ve heard. Some famous, some not-so-much.
