If you heard this one side of my cell phone conversation, what would you think?
"Hello, yeah, is he gone?"
(muffled reply)
"What? You said he'd be gone by 5:45. I'm not just going to keep driving around waiting for him to leave."
Spent the last week of July this year down in Belmar, New Jersey in the bottom half of my ex-sister-in-law’s two family house. Its a great house, equidistant between the beach and the center-of-town. However, my favorite thing to do is, at the end of the day, after the sun goes, is plant myself on the front section of her wrap around porch.
For the past two years, I have almost exclusively listened to True Crime Podcasts while driving in my car. When I find other people who are also interested in these podcasts, love to tell each other some of the stories we’ve heard. Some famous, some not-so-much.
I am often asked where I get the ideas for my blog. Usually, I answer its the stuff that happens with my kids, ex-wife, family, and just every day life.
My apologies to any bagpipe players out there, but it all ends up good in the end…

During one of our heat waves, Arlene phoned and asked if I'd water her flowers and look in on Tucker (her cat). I said I would. It was a lockdown, any reason to leave the house was welcome.
Normally, my stories about family vacations down in Belmar, New Jersey are lighthearted and usually involve a lot of drinking stories (on my part) or reliving memories.
This isn’t one of those stories.
Living in the Adirondack Mountains in New York state can be beautiful, but it is not without its perils. For the uniformed it can be downright dangerous.
Even though I don’t like it, this stay-at-home order is nothing new to me. Liquor stores and food pick-ups has been my routine.
