An Introduction
Sometime, in the mid-eighties, I went to a psychic with a couple of friends from work. The psychic woman did the readings out of her house. She greeted us at her front door, wore a housecoat and slippers, and led us into the kitchen.
Her children sat around the kitchen table and ate dinner. What struck me as funny was that they didn’t skip a beat while they ate. How normal it was for these kids to come across random strangers at their house at all hours of the day and night.
Either mom was a psychic, or she ran a whore house out of the basement.
Just my luck, she was a psychic.
She led us to the couch in the living room and told us to sit down.
“Okay,” she asked, “Who’s first?”
